Established at the University of Virginia as a national journal of literature and discussion, The Virginia Quarterly Review is an award-winning print and digital magazine and content-rich website committed to publishing excellence in contemporary literature, cultural criticism, long-form journalism, and photojournalism. With subscribers in 24 nations and online readers in more than 204 countries and territories, we bring literature and cultural coverage to a global audience. We have published more than 15 Nobel Laureates and more than 50 Pulitzer Prize winners, but welcome emerging writers, too. We pay $200 for poems, approximately $500 for reviews, and $1,000+ for fiction and essays.
