Toad comprises any number of species of artists of the creative order, often characterized by their exciting work, thick skin, and wart-like ideas. To maintain its lively form, Toad cultivates bimonthly issues with rotating editors and staff to ensure that the content stays fresh and diverse.
Toad: we rivet.
Every other month Toad showcases new poetry, prose, and visual art. As an ever-evolving amphibian, the editors of Toad select artists (“toadists”) from one of three pools: the first is a flourishing man-made pond, supplied with recommendations offered by previous contributors. The second is our sportive, always popular pool of open submissions. Lastly but not leastly, is our puddle-wonderful artistic response forum, which collects creative kickback from readers to establish an art bath for all to enjoy.
Toad: we bulge.
(Toad ‘s habitat is protected by conservationist Bob Hicok, and nourished by the Creative Writing graduate students of Virginia Tech.)
