We want you to think differently. We want you to cross your wires and see the world through your ears.
We are a literary and arts magazine run by two passionate editors. Our magazine aims to engage writers and artists in an exploration of the senses, publishing photography, artwork, poetry and short stories. We set a theme for each issue, and encourage a multi-sensory response to each theme.
The name and ethos of our magazine came before the idea: synaesthesia - a fascinating neurological condition that involuntarily blurs your senses. Sight becomes touch; sound becomes taste; scent becomes sight. For us, synaesthesia is an incredibly helpful and beneficial tool for writing and creating art.
We founded the magazine in November 2012 and our first issue came out in January 2013. We are online only, but one day we'd like to go print. We are free to read and submit to, and we have started to run competitions as well - these are paid entries. Later this year, we will host our first multi-sensory event. Most, if not all, of our illustrations are designed specifically for the piece of writing they are accompanied by - we want each piece to be truly unique. The writer, the artist and reader should interact - and so we include sound and music too, because why the hell not?
