Storm Cellar is a national literary arts magazine with a special emphasis on the Midwest — broadly construed to include at least Denver, Lexington, Winnipeg, and Buffalo. We want your best stories, flash, creative nonfiction, poems, and ideas penned on envelopes in buses and train cars. Originally featuring the work of artists in the Champaign-Urbana area, the magazine now regularly reaches across the country and the world for both cutting-edge and classic writing. (We're always looking visual art to fall in love with, in any medium or style, from photography to graphic narrative to painting and cool diagrams.) The magazine is eclectic, aiming to publish amazing works by new and established writers and artists, present a range of styles and approaches, and be as un-boring as it can. This is a journal of safety and danger, in all the possible meanings those words may have. If you write one thing to be read while waiting for the all-clear to sound, send it here.
