We've done special numbers on politics and religion, literary magazines, the prose poem, New York School poets, Hamlet, minimalism, cyberpunk, Caribbean writing, panic sex, interviews with new writers, and on individuals including Rita Dove, Barry Hannah, Rick Bass, and James Robison. Over the years we have cultivated an irredeemably disheveled look and a catholic publishing program. Mississippi Review is a lively magazine, always offbeat, perhaps a bit ahead of the curve, if there is a curve. A readable magazine that fits none of the usual pigeonholes.
